in the next issue of The Poetry Project!

poetryprojIf you want to read a book of poems that compassionately tends to what is personal in the politics of immigration, labor, inspiration, and power, look no further than Susanne Dyckman’s A Dark Ordinary. It’s a lovely book that feels strangely prophetic in light of Trump’s recent win. Her poems give voice to early 20th century child laborers, immigrants, and other subjects from Lewis Hine’s photographs. I’m so happy to share that my essay about those poems is forthcoming in the next issue of The Poetry Project Newsletter!
